Why an online register for patient bookings matters
How to put the National Register in place
- Register your practice. Sign up on the National Register. It is free to try.
- Enter your practice details accurately. List your practitioners, services, location and contact numbers, and keep them in line with your website.
- Decide what patients may book. Choose the appointment types and times, and how far ahead a patient may book.
- Link it to your patient portal and diary. Every booking should go into the same appointment calendar that your staff already use.
- Decide who confirms the bookings. Agree who in the practice confirms an appointment and how quickly, so that the patient hears back promptly.
- Review it regularly. Check that confirmations are going out, watch the no-shows and keep your details up to date.
